Lieto Voices' goal is to be a well mixed and balanced choir. We encourage potential members to audition for a position in their section. Candidate musicians need to be have good music skills and be able to read music, time signatures, dynamic marks and understand how to follow a conductor. As a member of Lieto, all of these skills will improve. If you've been in a choir, or hope to be in a choir, please audition. We look forward to making great music together.

Auditions are held at the beginning of each concert cycle, so that new members may learn the concert selections with the rest of the choir. Potential members are asked to prepare one of the musical selections listed below for their audition. Since music is suppose to be fun, we provide assistance to help new choir members prepare for their auditions.

The maximum choir membership is 70 members. As a medium sized choir, it is important that each voice is capable of supporting and matching the quality of the other vocalists.

Our choir concert schedule is moderately agressive, typically six to ten weeks between performances. We meet weekly to rehearse and polish the concert selections.

The quality of the performance is the sum of all of the individual efforts made by our members. Members are expected to attend the choir rehearsals. Members missing more than three rehearsals, for any reason, during the rehearsal cycle may not participate in the performance.
