Lieto Voices! A Community Choir is a performing and recording choir, now in its18th year in Washington County. We love the music that we perform and hope that our efforts please your ears and warm your heart. Our website can help you find our concert schedule, ticket information, and historical information, as well as provide a way to contact us and instructions on how to prepare for an audition, should you desire to join Lieto Voices. Lieto members are local residents of St George, Utah and the surrounding communities. We perform four to six times each year. Lieto, is pronounced Lee - Eh' - Toe and is the Italian word for happy or glad. The name therefore represents happy or glad voices, joined in song.

Sing With Us
Lieto Voices' goal is to be a well mixed and balanced choir. We encourage potential members to audition for a position in their section. Candidate musicians need to have good music skills and be able to read music, time signatures, dynamic marks and understand how to follow a conductor. As a member of Lieto, all of these skills will improve. If you've been in a choir, or hope to be in a choir, please audition. We look forward to making great music together. If you are interested in joining, please feel free to "try us out" by attending any one of our regular rehearsals normally held on Tuesday nights in the Pine View High School Choir Room at 8 pm. For more information or to arrange for an audition please contact us. Auditions are held at the beginning of each concert cycle so that new members may learn the concert selections with the rest of the choir. Potential members are asked to prepare the musical selection listed below for their audition. The audition will be done in a small group (quartet or double). Since music is suppose to be fun, we provide assistance to help new choir members prepare for their auditions.
The maximum choir membership is 70 members. As a medium sized choir, it is important that each voice is capable of supporting and matching the quality of the other vocalists.
Our choir concert schedule is moderately aggressive, typically six to ten weeks between performances. We meet weekly to rehearse and polish the concert selections.
The quality of the performance is the sum of all of the individual efforts made by our members. Members are expected to attend the choir rehearsals. Members missing more than two rehearsals, for any reason, during the rehearsal cycle may not participate in the performance.
Generally speaking, you will sit with your section leader at your first rehearsal. During your second rehearsal you may sit anywhere in the section you choose. After the second rehearsal, you will join all of the section leaders and the potential new members at the piano for a sing through the audition piece: April is in My Mistress Face
